Israeli occupation troops shot dead Hamas official and wounded two other Palestinians with live fire during a clashes in West Bank city of Hebron on Tuesday.
IOF shooting at Palestinains
Agence France Presse quoted Palestinian officials as saying that the martyr’s name was Mahmud al-Titi, 23, adding that he was a member in the resistance movement.

According to Maan news agency, clashes erupted when occupation forces raided refugee camp near Hebron.

Israeli soldiers fired live ammunition and tear gas after local youths threw stones at them, Red Crescent official Nasser Qabaja told Ma’an.

Maan added that IOF Israeli soldiers shot Mahmoud Shadfan in the stomach and 25-year-old Rami al-Karanz, 25, in the foot in al-Fawwar camp, according to Qabaja. However, the Palestinian agency did not mention that a thrid man was martyred

The occupation military said that soldiers entered the Al-Fawwar refugee camp, close to the Jewish settlement of Beit Haggai, after Palestinians hurled rocks and at passing Israeli vehicles.

The area is frequently the scene of clashes between Palestinians on one side and Israeli soldiers and Zionist settlers on the other.

“A violent riot erupted when they entered Al-Fawwar and Palestinians hurled rocks at them,” an army spokeswoman told AFP.

“When they considered their lives to be in imminent danger they fired toward the rioters, identifying hits,” she said, without saying how many.

“Those that were in need of medical attention were evacuated to a (Palestinian) hospital where one of the suspects died.”

She added that the military was conducting an inquiry into the incident.

What a ‘period of calm’ looks like in the Occupied Territories

February 24, 2013

22 February 2013

 By Ben White
22 February 2013

Since the end of the last Israeli incursion into Gaza, its navy has attacked Gaza fisherman multiple times
Three months have passed since the ceasefire that brought an end to Israel’s eight-day attack on the Gaza Strip known as Operation “Pillar of Defence”. This infographic depicts the number of attacks on the Gaza Strip by the Israeli military during this three-month period, as well as the number of Palestinian attacks emanating from Gaza. Since late November, Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip have averaged over one a day, everyday. These include shootings by troops positioned along the border fence, attacks on fishermen working off the Gaza coast, and incursions by the Israeli army.

This data is important for three reasons. First, it is a response to the Western media’s failure to cover the vast majority of Israeli attacks. This fits with a familiar and disturbing pattern, where a regional “period of calm” is exclusively defined in terms of attacks on Israelis. “Calm” from this perspective means security for Israelis – but more dead and injured Palestinians.

Second, data of this nature lay bare the daily reality for Palestinians and the power imbalance between the occupier and an occupied, colonised people fighting for their basic rights. It is instructive that the Israeli army refers to the entry of its forces into the Gaza Strip as “routine activity”. Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers continue to snatch Palestinians from their homes in the West Bank, enforce segregation, and protect settler land theft. We have included numbers for Palestinians killed and wounded in the West Bank over this same period because developments there and in Gaza ought not to be viewed as isolated from one another.

Third, if or when there is another assault by Israel on the Gaza Strip, the Israeli government and many in the West will seek to emphasise the “rockets” narrative once again. So remember this data, and note what the Israeli army has been doing when – in the words of Israel’s own consul general in Los Angeles – “for the last three months, there hasn’t been a rocket fired from Gaza”.

A Gun for Rent: After Libya, Hamas "Jihad" in Syria continues

February 23, 2013
Other evidence of the involvement of the gangs Hamas” in the war on Syria submitted by the family Hamdan Kashta” in the Gaza Strip. The family Mourned Osama Ahmed Hamdan Kashta (his full name), who fell on the territory of Syria.

Hamas Bridegroom is the relative of Osama Hamdan the “Hamas” foreign relations official.

The dead man was among “Qassam” mercenaries paid by Qatar and sent to fight in the ranks of the “Military Council in Tripoli -Libya “Al Qaeda” during the Nato war on Libya. He came to through Turkish territory earlier in the year.

It is to be noted that “the descendants of the Prophet Brigade” was founded and financed in coordination with the Qatari client criminal Khaled Meshaal, the leader of the “Hamas” movement.

Khaled Meshaal has overseen the creation of a security “brigade” in Damascus, led by Kamal Hosni Ghinajah, before he was assassinated last summer at his home in the suburb of “Qudsaya” northwest of Damascus. $ 20 was found in his home million transferred from Qatar through “Hamas” for the “descendants of the Prophet Brigade and “Nusra victory!” More

According to the Opposition “Syria the truth”, Ghanaja was executed in the office of head of Air Force Intelligence Maj. Gen. Jamil Hassan, after the discovery of his betrayal and his work with the Qataris, before his body was transported to his home. He was executed because he was entrusted with security and military secrets, being responsibile for the smuggling of weapons from Syria to the Gaza Strip in cooperation with Imad Mughniyeh, who was assassinated in cooperation between the Mossad” and a cadre within the private guards of  Khaled Meshaal. The the body Ghanaja  was first discovered in his home two days after his death and announced by local coordination committees in the Syrian revolution,” which proves that the Syrians militants have a special relationship with him.

The day they tried to kill him was the day

‘The man who died that day was Abu Marzook.

after that – it was Mishal, Mishal, Mishal.’

Was it Luck as McGeough claimed??

BTW, Imad Mughniyeh was assassinated on the evening of 12 February 2008, he had just finished a meeting with some of the most senior Palestinian leaders in the Syrian capital of Damascus. They had discussed ways to develop the capacities of the Palestinian resistance inside Palestine, and Gaza in particular.

Its important to note that the investigation of the assassination of Mughniyeh, conducted by both the competent authorities Syrian and by Hezbollah, reached in 2009 that a companion of Khaled Meshaal, who was in charge for aranging Mishaal’s meetings with Imad Mughniyeh and the transfer of arms into Gaza and the transfer of fighters to Lebanon for training, was recruited by Jordanian intelligence during his stay in Jordan after he was released from Israeli jails. It is not unlikely that Israeli intelligence has recruited him during his detention.

Because of embarrassment, Both Hezbollah and Syria avoided declaring the results of investigations.
Hamasnetwork in Damascus, which was run by Kamal Ghannajah,  is implicated in the assassination of Major General Zugheib, the Syrian missile program manager.

The Firing of Missiles by Hamas is Betrayal to the people of Syria.. Israel, Hamas negotiating truce agreements: Report

February 18, 2013
On November 21, 2012, I posted a comment (THE PALESTINIAN SPRING: A New OSLO UNDER COOKING IN CAIRO) confirming what General Amin Htait said in his Inteview with Dam Press,

“I am afraid that there will be a new Oslo, a new PA, and security coordination on the horizon giving the bread and taking the land and identity of the Palestinians. The hope of foiling the plan, and continueing the confrontation depends on the honorable resistance fighters in Gaza who were not fooled by the lie of Arab spring.” General Amin Htait

In his Visit to Gaza says before the Israeli Pillar of cloud, the Emir of Qatar told Hamas:
“Your resistance camp isn’t resisting, and your peace camp isn’t negotiating, so why don’t you make up?”
Oslo 2 is still under cooking under abother name: Long Truce. Israel and Hamas negotiating truce agreements, and to stop resistance resisting Egypt floods Gaza lifeline tunnels.

Who is the traitor???

Israel and Gaza-rulers Hamas have been holding indirect talks on easing the blockade on the Palestinian enclave, Channel 2 television reported Friday, under the terms of a truce deal reached last year.
The report said the talks have been going on for “a number of weeks,” and involved Israeli army officers. Both sides speak only via Egyptian mediators, it said.
The report on the privately owned channel noted that these negotiations were part of the agreements reached between Israel and Gaza after the deadly week-long conflict in and around the Gaza Strip last November.
Talks included opening the Rafah crossing on Gaza’s border with Egypt to enable the transfer of construction materials from Qatar, as well as enabling agricultural produce from Gaza to enter Israel.
A Hamas spokesman on Friday said that in the past two weeks there have been no talks, but in the past there has been contact between their representatives and the Egyptians on implementing the truce.
In November, senior Hamas official Mussa Abu Marzuk said an Israeli delegation was due in Cairo for indirect talks with Hamas on easing the Gaza blockade.
Israel has restricted the import of goods into Gaza since 2006, when Palestinian militants captured an Israeli soldier in a cross-border raid.
The blockade was tightened a year later after Hamas seized Gaza from its secular Fatah rivals in fighting that erupted after the Islamist group won legislative elections.
In December, Israel announced it was to begin allowing materials for private construction into Gaza for the first time since 2007.

Fatwa on demand: Breaking Gaza Truce is HARAM

November 27, 2012
The Ministry of Religious Affairs in the government in Gaza, issued a fatwa:
“Violaton of the truce with Israel is HARAM as long as Israel respects the truce, stressing that “the violation of the truce with Israel is haram and corruption on earth.” Salman Nasr Al-Dayeh in his fatwa issued by the ministry to “respect the truce is the duty of every one of us.”
If you ask the Minister: Why?
He will tell you: “And if they incline to peace, then incline to itPeace) and trust in Allah; surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing”. (61) Taking the verses out of the text, ignoring the verses (60) and abusing the Arabic grammer.
  • “And prepare against them what force (Deterrent forces) you can and horses tied at the frontier, to frighten thereby the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them, whom you do not know (but) Allah knows them; and whatever thing you will spend in Allah’s way (Aquire Power to Prevent Agression) , it will be paid back to you fully and you shall not be dealt with unjustly. (60)
  • And if they incline to peace, then incline to it (to force in previous verses because Force prevented war and forced the enemy to incline to peace) and trust in Allah; surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. (61)  – See my detailed interpretation here]

Neo-Hamas: The challenges of resistance

November 24, 2012

The great praise being voiced for the steadfastness of the people and resistance in Gaza cannot blind us to some facts and questions related to the latest developments. The cease-fire announced yesterday – though necessary to halt the Israeli killing-machine – has only added to these complex questions.

There is a dense layer of smoke in the air concealing signs that are cause for concern for the future of the Palestinian cause. At best, they invite vigilance and raise questions about the resistance’s strategy in the aftermath of this victory.

In yesterday’s edition of Yedioth Ahronoth, senior commentator Nahum Barnea had the following to say about the cease-fire:

“The US administration is trying to use the understanding to strengthen the Sunni axis in the Arab world against the Shia axis. The enemy is Shia Iran and Iranian-sponsored Hezbollah and Syria. The Sunni alliance consists of Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the Palestinian Authority, and the Gulf emirates, with Jordan on the margins. Hamas will have to choose between Iran and Egypt. If Iran could offer missiles and money, Egypt will offer immunity from Israeli attack, sovereignty over Gaza, and an open door to the world.”

The Israelis speak excitedly of their confidence that Egypt can be enlisted in such a scheme. They are counting heavily on financial assistance from the Egyptian government being linked to its pursuit of policies that serve the pro-accommodation camp. In the US, there is also concern to win over what it calls the “moderates” in the Sunni majority countries’ Islamist movements.

There is also impatience in the US and Israel to push things further – to get the resistance in Palestine to break off its relationship with Iran and, by extension, Syria and Hezbollah. The aim would be to employ Hamas’ popular legitimacy and record of struggle in the confrontation with the opposing camp, seeing as it is the involvement of the Iran-Syria-Hezbollah axis in resisting US and Israeli occupation that gives it sway in the wider Arab and Islamic worlds.

Are forecasts like these well-founded?

The harsh truth is that there are growing indications that such prospects need to be taken seriously. We need to take into account that Arab attitudes to the Palestinian cause and resistance are changing. It must be noted by the pro-resistance camp, for example, that not one Arab capital witnessed a serious demonstration in solidarity with the Gaza Strip.

Also, the coverage of the most powerful and wide-reaching Arab media outlets did not match either the scale of the Israeli aggression or their own previous standards of coverage.

November 21, 2012

21-11-2012

Shotly after a planned agreement over a ceasefire in Gaza strip was announced in Cairo, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah hoped that the Palestinian resistance could set its own conditions on the Zionist entity.
Sayyed Nasralla Ashura ceremony
During Ashura ceremony at Sayyed Shuhada complex in Beirut’s southern suburb, Sayyed Nasrallah assured that the offensive on Gaza and especially the resistance performance was really a great experience that should be studied and taken into consideration.

“We will watch what is going to happen in Gaza, and we hope that there will be an end for the offensive and a victory for the resistance as it is expected.”

“God willing, our brothers in the resistance could set their own conditions and from a powerful position. This power was the power of the fighters, blood, patience and steadiness which we witnessed during the offensive,” Sayyed Nasrallah addressed crowds in Sayyed Shuhada complex.

“This experience (resistance’s experience) should be later on studied and learned from for the sake of Gaza itself, Lebanon and the region.. (We must study) the West’s stance, the US’, Islamic world’s, and the performance of each the enemy and the resistance,” his eminence added.

“It’s really a great experience and a rich one. We must utilize this experience in a bid to strengthen our elements of power,” Sayyed Nasrallah said further.

"Israel" Escalates Aggression, Truce to the Unknown

November 21, 2012

Local Editor

The talk of truce between Gaza and Zionist entity retreated to the column of the unknown as “Israel” escalated its aggression on the besieged strip.

In details, “Israel” intensified attacks on the Gaza Strip overnight Wednesday as officials announced that an agreement on an Egyptian-brokered truce had been delayed at the last minute, pushing the continuous “Israeli” aggression in to its eighth deadly day.

This comes after it was declared that a diplomatic push had cemented a deal to end the conflict.
Earlier Tuesday, Ayman Taha, a Hamas official, announced that a cease-fire had been reached and would go into effect within hours and an Egyptian official said an agreement would be reached Tuesday.

But later in the evening, the deal appeared to be delayed.

A senior official from a Palestinian faction involved in the talks stated that the agreement was effectively finalized, but that the “Israelis” had delayed signing, in objection to the fact that Hamas had publicly announced the deal.
For his part, “Israeli” PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s spokesman, Mark Regev, told Reuters that the “”Israeli” military operations in Gaza would continue in parallel with diplomacy.”
A Hamas official told Reuters the efforts to broker a truce had been held up because the “Israeli” government had yet to respond to proposals, indicating there would be no cease-fire until Wednesday at the earliest.

“The “Israeli” side has not responded yet, so we will not hold a news conference this evening and must wait until tomorrow,” Ezzat al-Rishq, a senior Hamas leader, said.

Egyptian President Mohammad Mursi, earlier, said the negotiations between the two sides would yield positive results during the coming hours.

In what appeared to be a last-minute burst of heavy fire, “Israeli” tanks and gunboats heavily shelled the strip.

Six Palestinians were martyred in “Israeli” raids Tuesday night, raising the day’s toll to 26.The Hamas emergency services said that two brothers in the southern town of Rafah were martyred in a strike that hit their motorcycle.

Four others were killed in night raids around the central town of Deir al-Balah.

Earlier, two cameramen from al-Aqsa TV were martyred in “Israeli” air raids on the Gaza Strip, according to Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra, who said the strike hit a car in Gaza City’s Nasser area that was clearly marked as a press vehicle.

Separately, the ambulance service announced that two children had been martyred in a strike on Gaza City’s Zeitun neighborhood, with a statement saying they had arrived at the city’s Shifa hospital “in pieces.”

Elsewhere, 15-year-old Yahya Mohammad Awad was killed as he hunted birds near the beach when a missile hit the northern Sudaniya area, and three men died in the nearby town of Beit Lahiya and in Mughraqa, just south of Gaza City. The overall Palestinian death toll in the aggression that began on Nov. 14 exceeded 136 as of Tuesday night.

Today, 3 Israelis were killed as a result of rocket fire from Gaza.
This came after Israel had killed 13 Palestinians, including 3 children and a woman, and injured 115, including 26 children and 25 women since yesterday, 14 November.
This will be presented by Israel – and sympathetic or careless world media – as another justification for Israel’s attacks on Gaza to stop rocket fire. But this narrative is false.
Where there was calm and an effective truce, Israel chose to shatter it, bringing about the current deadly escalation.
In general, Palestinians fired rockets, or attacked the Israeli army, as a response to Israeli attacks, seeking to avoid escalation and publicly embracing a truce. Take a look at the sequence:

  • On 29 October the BBC reported that “Militants in Gaza have fired 26 rockets into Israel, officials say, amid a flare-up in fighting which shattered a brief ceasefire between the two sides. No injuries were reported from the barrage, in the south of the country.” The BBC said that, “It came hours after Israeli aircraft hit targets in Gaza, after militants fired rockets following the killing by Israel of a Gazan who Israel said fired mortars at its troops.”

BBC reporter Jon Donnison said, “It is often difficult to pinpoint when a specific escalation in violence started – both sides will always remember what they see as a previous act of aggression by the other which enables them to justify their attacks as retaliation.” But we can do better than that.

  • On 4 November, Israeli forces shot dead “an unarmed, mentally unfit man” walking near an Israeli-imposed “buffer” area inside the occupied Gaza Strip.
  • Yet, after the 28-29 October “flare-up” reported by the BBC, the Israel-based Twitter account @qassamcount, which catalogues projectiles fired from Gaza toward Israel recorded almost no rocket fire. Qassam Count tweeted at 23:56 UTC on 5 November about just one rocket.

The killing of Ahmad Abu Daqqa

  • On 8 November, Israeli occupation forces made an incursion into the Gaza Strip near al-Qarara villlage northeast of Khan Yunis fatally injuring a child. According to the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR):

They leveled areas of Palestinian land amidst indiscriminate shooting. A few hours later, they moved southwards to ‘Abassan village. They opened fire indiscriminately and leveled areas of Palestinian land. An Israeli helicopter gunship also opened fire at the area. At approximately 16:30, as a result of the indiscriminate shooting by IOF [Israeli occupation forces] military vehicles, 13-year-old Ahmed Younis Khader Abu Daqqa was seriously wounded by a bullet to the abdomen. At the time he was shot, Ahmed had been playing football with his friends in front of his family’s house, located nearly 1,500 meters away from the area where the IOF were present.

Ahmad Abu Daqqa, profiled by The Electronic Intifada’s Rami Almeghari, died of his injuries.

Palestinians attack Israeli army, Israeli army kills civilians

Following this, Israel attacked civilian neighborhoods in Gaza. In the ensuing 72 hour period, Israeli forced killed 7 Palestinians. According to PCHR, five of the dead were civilians, including 3 children. Fifty-two others, including 6 women and 12 children were wounded.
“Four of these deaths and 38 of the injuries resulted from an Israeli attack on a football playground in al-Shoja’iya neighborhood east of Gaza City,” PCHR reported.
Not surprisingly, Palestinians fired rockets into Israel, as recorded by “Qassam Count”:

Truce talks

Qassam Count records no rockets on 11 November. This can perhaps be explained by the fact that Palestinian factions were in talks over a truce and were keen to see calm restored.
Israel’s Ynet reported on 11 November:

Egyptian Intelligence officials have successfully brokered an end to the current round of escalation in the south, Ynet learned Sunday. No Israeli source has corroborated the report.

The Ynet reported added:

According to senior Egyptian sources, both Hamas and Islamic Jihad have agreed to hold their fire if Israel suspends its airstrike on Gaza. > Cairo-based sources said that Israel reportedly agreed not to retaliate over sporadic rocket fire from Gaza, as long as it was sans casualties

Truce takes hold

Reuters reported on 13 November:

After five days of mounting violence, Israel and the Palestinians stepped back from the brink of a new war in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, sending signals to each other via Egypt that they would hold their fire unless attacked.

The report added:

Ismail Haniyeh, prime minister of Gaza’s Hamas government, praised the main armed factions in the enclave for agreeing on Monday night to a truce. “They showed a high sense of responsibility by saying they would respect calm should the Israeli occupation also abide by it, he said.

Israel destroys the truce

Yet Israel was not interested in calm.

  • On 14 November Israel carried out the extrajudicial killing of Hamas military chief Ahmad al-Jabari.

Reuters noted that the Israeli attack “appeared to end a 24-hour lull in cross-border violence that surged this week.”
The rest is tragic history, some undoubtedly yet to be written in innocent blood.

An Israeli pattern

Israel’s contempt for truces and ceasefires is nothing new. In November 2008, Israel broke a months-long ceasefire, manufacturing a crisis that it then used to justify its December 2008-January 2009 massacre of 1,400 people in Gaza.

Israel has a long, well-documented history of breaking ceasefire after ceasefire, but you would never know it by watching the news or reading, say, The New York Times.

It is also important to keep in mind the context that Israel and Palestinians in Gaza are not symmetrical “sides.” Gaza is a small, impoverished enclave, home to 1.6 million people, some 80 percent of whom are refugees. Gaza is under a tight siege and blockade by Israel, the occupying power.
